LES 2 ALPES – HOME OF RIDE – We have decided to carry out all the courses in Les 2 Alpes. The snowparks are always at the top with multiple difficulty areas allowing optimal training. The resort also offers a large number of fun activities. In addition, in 10 years we have become leaders in winter sports courses and the whole resort welcomes us with open arms. GUARANTEED PROGRESSION - From initiation to perfection, these intensive training courses are dedicated to freestyle and its applications. Work on the basics is preferred to progress in complete safety thanks to our specialist trainers. Groups are formed at the beginning of the week for group lessons. The trainees then evolve more freely while increasing the technical difficulty over the week, always under the watchful eye of the coaches. The trampoline and its mini training snowboard will support our training. We are located in Cenac & St Julien in the heart of the Black Perigord, on the Dordogne river. We propose a beginners program as an introduction to Stand Up Paddle followed by trips down by the river Dordogne with a guide, passing Middle Age castles. WHAT IS STAND UP PADDLE ? The discipline is not new: there long ago in the 60’s, « Waikiki Beachboys of Honolulu » surf teachers stood on their boards with a paddle to stabilize. Stand Up Paddle » SUP » Boarding is derived from its Polynesian roots. The Hawaiian translation is Ku Hoe He’e Nalu; to stand, to paddle, to surf, a wave. Early Polynesian’s would stand on a canoe with an ore in one hand and a spear in the other. Standing on the canoe gave them a clear perspective to see deep into the water and strike fish easier. Back in the 60’s Hawaiian watermen and surfers on the South Shore of Oahu started stand up paddling surfing. In the early 2000s Hawaiian surfers such as Dave Kalama, Brian Keaulana, Rick Thomas, Archie Kalepa and Laird Hamilton Stand Up Paddle Boarding started as an alternative to the drive while the surf was down.

Did you know that kitesurfing was invented in Brittany in 1984 by Dominique and Bruno Lagaignoux, two brothers born in Quimper All the more reason to come and test this complete sliding sport which requires a good sense of balance and a good knowledge of the winds. At the water’s edge, towed by a wing, the sensation of speed is incredible. The Pors Carn spot is located in Saint-Guénolé, south of the famous Pointe de la Torche, on a pretty beach of about 2 kilometers. Ideal for Surfing, Windsurfing, Kitesurfing, the swell is smaller there than on the La Torche spot and allows everyone to find the ideal conditions for having fun. Stern’s spot This Pays Bigouden spot is located in Penmarc’h, in southern Finistère. It has excellent southwest thermals in summer and lends itself easily to freeriding. The rest of the year, the water remains flat with a rather east-northeast wind. Letty lagoon Located in Benodet, the Letty is a small high tide lagoon which is particularly suitable for kitesurfing. At low tide, the water recedes so that you can cross on foot and practice on the other side of the sand dune. It is a very charming space that works with winds from West to East passing through the South. Vieux Boucau’s ever shifting sandbanks kick up consistent surf and good waves all year round. Just 30 minutes from Biarritz airport, Vieux Boucau is a reliable surf spot with peaks popping off up and down the beach. When surfers talk about Vieux Boucau, they talk about north of the river and south of the river. They’re referring to the runoff from the Port d’Albret lagoon and there’s good waves both to the north and the south. The sand banks are constantly moving around though, so it’s up to you to find the best peak on the day. Fortunately, it’s easy to check the surf from up on the dune at the far end of Avenue des Dunes. The Best Time of year to go surfing vieux boucau For most surfers, the best time to surf Vieux Boucau is during the months either side of July and August. The water’s warm, it’s not too crowded and the swell is pretty consistent. In September and October, the evenings are still long, you can surf in boardshorts and the kids are back in school, so you can get plenty of waves to yourself. Having said that, the peak summer months are great for newbies wanting to take their first surf lessons. The water’s warm and the waves are friendly most of the time. You just need to watch out for the number of people in the water. If you’re a beginner, it’s a good idea to take a lesson with one of the many Vieux Boucau surf schools. Your instructor will fast track your progression and keep you safe in the crowded waves. Experienced surfers will love the winter months. The swell builds in size and power through October, November and December, there’s fewer surfers in the water and it’s not unusual for Vieux Boucau to produce some quality overhead barrels.
